When it comes to Christmas films, I’m disappointed to say that there are not many that I have watched. Love Actually and The Holiday are only two of a very small number of Christmas films that I have watched over the years and so this year I am going to challenge myself to finally watch some of the ones everyone talks about! Here are my top five.
Home Alone
Now I have watched a bit of Home Alone, but I have no idea which one it was so it’s probably a good thing to re-watch! I remember really enjoying what I did watch and it’s a film that people talk about every year so it’s definitely time I watch it all the way through!
Elf
I have never seen any of Elf but I’ve heard so many good things. It looks like a really fun film and probably something I’m not used to watching so I’m intrigued by how I find it. It’s got good reviews and comes across as though it’s a modern classic so I have high hopes!

The Christmas Chronicles
With this being a very recent Christmas film, it has definitely been on my radar yet I have not seen it. I believe there is a sequel being released this year as well so I think I might watch this one first.
Arthur Christmas
Like with Home Alone, I have seen a bit of this, but I haven’t watched the whole thing and can’t really tell you what I saw – something to do with Santa and presents? In all fairness that could be most Christmas films! The visuals of this film look really good and from what I do remember, it had a great vibe to it.
Last Christmas
I really wanted to see this film when it was released at the cinema last year but I never got round to it. I’ve read bits and pieces about what the storyline is and I think it’s definitely worth a watch, even if it’s just for the soundtrack!
Are there any Christmas films you have never got round to watching? Let me know in the comments below.
I haven’t seen all of these, but we watch Elf every year. It has become a family favourite around here.
Yes, I’ve heard such good things about Elf so I’m looking forward to watching it.
Arthur Christmas is really good! Worth watching all year I would say 🙂
Thanks. Yes it seems like a lot of fun!
I can’t believe you haven’t seen Elf! It’s my favourite and every Christmas Eve, I make sure I watch it before bed xx

Home Alone is an absolute classic! Couldn’t imagine Christmas holidays without watching it. It somehow never gets old 🙂
Yes I’ve heard so many great things 🙂
I highly recommend Elf! It’s so sweet. I am a person so in love with Christmas movies that I want to marry them. So when Hallmark and Lifetime begin showing Christmas movies in October, that is when my holiday season officially begins. 🙂
That’s great to know, thank you. Looking forward to seeing it
These are actually all my favourites! We watched Christmas Chronicles at the weekend ready for the next one to land. I forgot how much I loved it.
Last Christmas is brilliant, enjoy x x
Hi Sarah. Well, my wife would tell you that you MUST watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” – she says it is a classic. I, on the other hand, think that Die Hard is the best Christmas movie and that it is a classic 🙂
By the way, Elf is the Marmite of Christmas movies – typically you love it or hate it!
Thanks Richie. Yes, I haven’t seen those two either. There’s so many to watch!
I love Elf, it makes me so so happy and brings me so much joy every year!

I’ve seen Elf too many times to count, to the point where It’s not even an option to watch anymore because I’m bored of it lol, but Aurthur Christmas is such a lovely film you should deffo watch it!!
Thanks. Can’t wait to watch them 🙂
I’ve actually only seen 2 of these! I’m not a fan of Home Alone but I really enjoyed Last Christmas! Hope you enjoy 🙂 x
Thanks Jenny. I’m hoping Last Christmas will be put on a streaming platform.
I am so in the mood for these Christmas movies! I love Elf so much!
Yes, not long to go now until Christmas!
Home Alone is a classic & I watched Elf the other day with my boyfriend because he has never seen it too! It is a good movie!

I absolutely love a newer classic: Christmas Vacation and for a real classic: It’s a Wonderful Life.

Home Alone and Elf are a must in our house! This Christmas though I want to try and watch some of the ones I never watched. I will add for sure Arthur Christmas to my list! Thanks for sharing xx
Thanks Cristina. I’ve started watching Arthur Christmas and I’m liking it so far
I wasn’t the biggest fan of Arthur’s Christmas but we watched Christmas Chronicles and that was pretty good. Of course the others are pure classics! Great list.
